I interviewed on 6 Jan at 1200. Breakdown for my group of 6; 5 military (4 USAF, 1 USMC) 1 civilian regional Capt. Myself and one of the AF bubbas had a 737 type rating, the other 4 did not. Job fair question didn't come up, but I did not attend one. That said, if you can fit it into your schedule I would run, not walk, to one.

The other common denominator among the military guys was that a majority of us had instructor pilot tours.

No job offer yet, but heard from 5 of my references yesterday that they had been called by domicile chief pilots wanting to know about me. Good luck to everyone!

Thanks for the feedback. Always a good feeling when you hear that your references have been called, as you know the process is moving in the right direction. Hope you get hired!

FWIW, COD and I have very similar backgrounds; 3700hrs TT, 1300ME TPIC, 2200 Mil IP. Retired in 2012 and went to work for NG Corp on UAVs (good money, but about as much fun as being poked in the eye with a sharp stick). Decided I wanted to return to flying and SWA was my first choice. Got the type rating Mar 14 and invited to interview May 14, but I was OCONUS for work and couldn't make it. I was flying GA to maintain instrument currency (70 hrs a yr) and my 12/24 month totals reflected that. No one was calling. Decided to take a job with L3 flying KA/MC-12s, put 200hrs in my log book by 5 Dec and got the "interview invite" email 18 Dec for a 6 Jan interview. Haven't seen a TBNT email, and my refs were called yesterday, so I am guardedly optimistic for a job offer. Good luck!

Excellent. You give me a lot of hope. Although I am getting my King Air time on the weekends and not as quickly, I am hoping for the same results. Hope you get the job.

Guess I was a bit mistaken. I thought the AFB was near PNS...it's near Ft. Walton Beach. Not too far away from PNS but guess the drive onto the AFB vs a drive and commute was a easy decision for him.

I live out west so should be able to be based at home by later this year hopefully. Looking forward to leaving DAL soon and getting back home!

Oldest is 52, youngest is 31. Average age of all 8200 pilots at SWA is 49. Youngest pilot on the seniority list is 28.
