Most junior BWI FO started class in mid Jan2016. This essentially means he didn't have to wait long for it (class is 7 weeks long).

On the Southwest application dashboard, my status is "received submission" rather than "under review". Will the status change to "under review" before an invite would be sent?

Once I'm on the property, I need to find you, Zap, FLY and that trouble guy Whack () and contribute some probie dollars to buy a round or two for all the help you guys have been putting on here.

As of the last bid, no new hires in Dallas or Houston, but both are held in the second month. I would expect things to slow a little as the classes dwindle a bit in the coming months, but I think the current trend will hold and HOU will be attainable either in the first or second month. Honestly, it depends more on movement out east since we have so many FAT guys in Houston. When Orlando and the ATL move, so does the seniority picture in Houston. If another base opens in the Southeast, it is going to be an insane amount of scrambling around.
Don't count PHX out as well if you aren't able to hold HOU. Despite being PHX (we have 9 domiciles and one base) it is a good commuter base and I found it way easier to get hotels and transportation there than Vegas.

Waco - my dashboard still says "received submission" for all three requisition numbers that I have applied to, and I have an interview scheduled this month. I think you just have to wait for the e-mail invite. I got no advanced warning, just a very pleasant "surprise e-mail" one afternoon after applying to most recent requisition number.

e6b - what is difference between PHX being a base vs. a domicile in terms of someone wanting to live there and/or fly from there?

I see what you did there...

Fair enough... no buying beer until after probation, but seriously gents... really appreciate all the gouge and info you keep putting up here. It is really helpful and appreciated.

BTW... has there been any serious talk about opening another base in the Southeast?

For those starting class or waiting on a class, congratulations!!! If you're waiting on the CJO, good luck and hang in there. No news is good news. Took me 6 six weeks to get the good word and I definitely underestimated the waiting game.

As for the bases, I finished IOE the 2nd week of March and I was sent to PHX for my "temporary" base. I was able to hold HOU for May and several from my class held it right out of training. It seems to alternate bids for the new hires as it appears many went to OAK this time around. I have found PHX to be very commutable from Houston between us, UAL and AA there are lots of options and, more importantly, the first flights arrive early am and the last flights leave late pm. Which is great for commutability. But with all that said, the sooner you can not commute the better your life will be. I realize that's easier said than done, but food for thought if you aren't familiar with the 121 world.

Mostly just the amount of saluting, using callsigns, and using the salutation "Sir" 😎 Lots of kernels ya know

PHX is the quickest "base" to get a blank line (aka "off reserve") right meow, so saddle up Goose, it's time to fly with the Mav!

BTW, Mav has struggled with some family issues as of late and you all need to cut him a break...

Awesome!!! I am definitely a little slow to realize this joke...heck here I was thinking PHX was some kind of "mini-domicile" as opposed to an extension of the Luke AFB campus.
