Interline is just the ability to sell seats on another airline as a service to your passengers. Usually transfer bags as well, so if a customer wants to go to say BA from LAS, then SWA could market and sell a ticket that went from LAS to LAX and then onto BA on LAN. SWA would issue the whole ticket as one ticket but all revenue from LAX to BA would be LANs.
In a codeshare, it's the same one ticket, but in this case SWA places it's actual airline code on the LAN flight and gets a small piece of the revenue of that ticket from LAX to BA.
Both allow SWA to market flights to BA without having to actually operate any flights, but in a codeshare, there is even less impetus to put your own metal on that route as you are getting a little revenue without putting any capital forward. On an interline, your not even getting the small revenue, but are getting to market your flights alongside LAN as a way to get to BA. (for example).
