Man, it's gotta be tough leaning all those new "kompany procedures."
You just keep thinking that your captain seat at Value Jet was worth something. It's wasn't. Obviously.
You must be the FAT dude on the Jumpseat playing candy crush on his phone the whole flight whilst making mental notes to complain about the taxi technique - because you know better after 4 airlines.

A very insightful post, btw. No doubt you're one of the ones that feel that even with the way things turned out we still got too much. Niiiiiiiice.

As for changing things.....I could really give a crap. After the raping of my seniority and my seat, I'm only in this for one person. Moi (and my fellow pilots who've been wronged from my previous group). WHEN I get my seat back, I'll be sure to operate as I did before. That's all I can really change.

In the meantime we can continue to have a discussion about the issues currently facing SWA.
I know you really would like stuff to change. As much as you say it is in yourself that your interests lie; you want SWA to succeed. I know you are Pi$$ed and rightly so but you are a professional. Perhaps you know your self-interest lie in the success of SWA. If SWA goes down we all do.
SO don't say you don't give a crap because you really do. I know you don't want too but you can't help it. I ask you to not give up and keep trying to improve things as a whole.

I do take great pride in my profession and operating the aircraft as smoothly and safely as possible (perhaps that's why I'm appalled at the lack of standardization and "man-handling of the aircraft" that I now see out on line). That part I won't ever lose. However, with regards to SWA my "give a s7it" meter is really not even registering on the scale. That's pretty much been beat out of me with the conniving that the company did with SWAPA to steal our seats and seniority. You know I'm not the only one with that attitude.

Personally, I think our current MEC Chairman's comment to Van de Ven recently sums it up best, "Don't be surprised if in the future there's an AirTran guy sitting across the table from you with an ax to grind".
