Yep. Saw it pop up on my phone as an alert and my heart skipped a beat. Read the body of the e-mail and just laughed a little at myself. Oh well, at least I have heard SOMETHING from somebody now. All my other apps have disappeared into the ether.

Same here for the rejection email--all those I talked to today didn't have the type rating.

How are you guys receiving these emails? I tried to sign up to receive alerts on the SWA site (www.swajobs.com), but then it goes to a blank page after I click "save this search criteria" to get "notified when new jobs are added." When I check my "saved jobs" there's nothing there either. If I have my application complete with all green checks on the Pilot Credentials site does that mean I'm done or do I need to add a resume to the SWA site (www.swajobs.com)? I would think they'd use the Pilot Credentials site considering it's much more info than just a resume. Any info from anyone is greatly appreciated! I have multiple friends that work at SWA, but it seems like, from the info I'm getting, that things have changed since they got hired.

I applied via the website back when the window opened which then invited you via email to go to Pilotcredentials and set up a profile. Don't know which one sent the email. It said it was from Southwest Airlines when it popped up.

Break break

I know at least one applicant that was typed, well connected, had a boatload of 737 PIC/IP time, and got the TBNT email today. Both guys that I know that got hired were typed and immediately available to start class. I really think that in this window they were looking for guys that could start right away and get into class quick. Both myself and the dude that I mentioned above were not immediately available.

same here--all of us had recommendations but were not typed and not available until this summer. Timing is everything.

You are correct. This was directly from the CP at WAI. However he did say something to the effect that once hiring is expected to be continuous there is potential to relax the importance of having the type prior to the interview since they can afford the extra time to hire the guy and let him get the type. In the meantime, for this round the need was immediate and obvious by the number of guys who got the interview with the type.

Hopefully the next app window will open soon. That begs the question, will we have to create a new PC app from scratch, or can we just keep updating the current one on file? I checked after the TBNT and it was still "active".

I received the TBNT today. Typed at HPA and was immediately available, IP/EP (pointy nosed jets). I did stop updating my application after being hired elsewhere in late December.

Stay cocked…this is happening sooner that you think and only for a short time.
