New hire class started on the 19th and the next one is 26 Feb. There is a new Transition class or NH class every week since 2 January so far.

The Training Center is extremely busy. The class sizes are 28-30 per class.

NH Classes so far this time:
30 in 11 Dec class
30 in 18 Dec class
28 in 2 Jan class
30 in 22 Jan class
28 in 19 Feb class
28 in 26 Feb class

2014 Transition classes so far:
8 Jan
15 Jan
5 Feb
12 Feb

Supposedly they'll be at a FAPA job fair in Vegas on 5/1. Hopefully that is good news.

Perhaps the 260 for 2014 have already been hired, BUT they haven't ALL been put through training, correct?

I guess I'm just trying to ascertain if the plan is still 260 new-hires for 2014. Kind of ironic that they're hiring pilots now when they're planning on paying AirTran pilots to sit at home in the beginning of 2015.

Not all trained yet. New hire classes through April. At least 4 of us from the day of our interview (mid Jan.) are still waiting on a class date and there were 5 or 6 more days of interviews after us.

This is the 260 they had told us they were hiring. The summation is that any additional hires would likely come from a new hiring window.

I was 1 of the last 5 people interviewed. They told us when our interview was done, that would be it for this "window". I interviewed on Jan 23rd, was hired about a week later. I did my DOT drug screening shortly after and now I am waiting on a class date. When we interviewed we were told to expect the last class for this window which is April 30th. We may get an earlier class if some people couldn't fill it.

Maybe they are hoping the AirTran pilots will leave?

The 260 are to cover reserve for the summer months due to 117. When former air trans transition (after sitting) first quarter 15, we will be staffed properly. Unless there is actual "net" more flying due to increased aircraft utilization or non "flattish ness". Basically, couldn't transition the fats, move aircraft to Delta and convert 737's all by beginning of summer to have proper staffing
