FWIW, in my interview group there was one guy who did not have the type, and it was indicated that he was probably the first guy this go round to get called for an interview without one.

I think your theory is sound…they need to fill class dates soonest, and can't give guys the six months to get the type, so why invite them in?

If no TBNT I'd expect they will be calling you for an interview next round. Good luck!
Thanks for the intel, hopefully your right. I got my ATP this summer locally, versus the 737 from HP. Although now I am considering doing that anyways, which is probably what I should have done to begin with (especially with the 911 GI Bill covering 100%). I called HP and they are booked solid through April for the Classic type, so no point in worrying about it now.

That's pretty interesting. I wonder if they told him if he'd have to get his type asap.

According to HP, the 737 classic type is now split between Dallas and charlotte. Academics in Dallas and Sims/checkride in Charlotte. Unless you want to do the NG course which is being offered all together in Dallas.

For those of you who have used the 911 GI Bill to pay for the type, how many months of benefits did it use?

I posted this to another thread:

88 new-hires

37 to PHX

20 to LAS

31 to OAK

That's straight off the March vacancy award that just came out.

9 months as I recall...basically one year of school.

What's the most junior BWI guy/gal on property? Are the AirTran guys gonna pretty much keep new hires from getting the east coast?

(Not that there's anything wrong with that. Air Tran guys deserve to be based where they want)
