Hiring -- have the calls started yet

Wow ... Wow
Yeah well tough titties, Gary. You're certainly not getting ANYTHING from me in the way of benefitting the company without it benefitting me. Your past actions have sealed that fate. IOU exactly ZERO favors. Buy the necessary aircraft to service the routes you want to service, but don't come asking for any type of relief on contract language.
Not that we AT guys don't share in some level of this "What The Fudge" is going on but wow. For your own sanity or at least life expectancy go easy. We are stuck with this. Make a choice now to deal with it or move on. I choosing to stay for reasons of my own. If I had known in 2011 what I know now I would have put other brands in the fire to give myself backups if I had needed them. Lets stay professional and move this forward. SWA definitely is in need of some help in the near term if for nothing more than to show them how to do it better by example. No slam to the SWA guys but the Ground ops is horrible. SWA really needs to get its triple crown back. Last earned in 1997 I believe. Now SWA/AT are rolling up in last place. This needs to be fixed or we will all lose.
I agree you owe Garry nothing but do the best you can for your own professional pride.
It is funny but depending how you read your quote above you could be considered the biggest SWAPA advocate. We did / do a better job job for a lot less $$ and worse work rules. So it must have been because we are true professionals. Don't anyone take that from you.
You may deserve your anger but ....

Whack at the risk offending you, and not my intent.

Nowadays, I've adopted a much more selfish attitude and am definitely in it for me (and my fellow AT brethren who have also gotten kicked in the groin).
Ground ops at SW is not horrible......it is 'effing DEPLORABLE. This schit's got to change. It's ridiculously bad. 10 min turn? Hell, they literally struggle with a 30 min turn. No joke. You've seen it. I know you have.
Those that know me will tell you that I have tremendous professional pride. Do not confuse that with a lack of pride for our current Overlords. I love and respect the hell out of my profession but have close to zero respect for our current employer after their actions regarding our SLI.
Please don't mistake my apathy, anger and vengefulness for lack of professionalism. They are completely different topics. They'll never take my professionalism in the cockpit, but they've certainly beaten the "give a crap" out of me.......at least at out current employer.

To answer some of the questions a few pages back...about 2 months from interview to class date is the current average. The number is 265 (ish) for this "round". The hiring window wont be open again for a few months, they have all the apps they want for this 265. I would guess about 125-150 have already been verbally hired so there is about another 125 to go. The plan is to have all 265 on the line by summer time, read classes thru April/May then re-evaluate over the summer what the fall/winter needs will be and if more people are needed, and some of the higher ups think they are needed, open the window/hiring process again. This is all what I've been told by the training dept people in the last 2 weeks, it may or may not come true, seems like things change daily in this business...As for the first 3 classes so far, about 80% are ex military (or currently still in the ANG/Reserves, many with 121 time as well) and the rest come from other 121 carriers with a corporate/135 guy or two thrown in the mix.

I got a call for an interview for an Instructor position in the Flight Training Center. Anyone who could provide some info on what to expect it would be deeply appreciated I can't find anything on this topic. I'm planning on preparing likes its a pilot interview, but would still like some details. ( before anyone ask why I would prefer the Training Center over flying the line, it's because I like my own bed). I won't question your dream, please don't slam mine. Thanks
