Perhaps it was an overstatement, but I'm too lazy to dig up the numbers. Care to break them out for me, Chief?

Delta Airlines baggage fees contributed a little over $800 million to the annual profit in 2012. That was less then half of the annual profit for 2012.

Considering that ancillary fees are virtually the ONLY thing that keeps you and most other Legacy carriers afloat, just imagine what kind of financials SWA will be able to turn in when they DO start charging fees!

Better break out some airplane paint and body paint scrub....

Okay....I'll walk that one back to: So almost half your profit came from bag fees.

My orginal point remains:

Source?

Supposedly, SWA Check Airman have been informed they won't start doing Int'l until Q3 2014.

I wish it could wrap up sooner, too. This integration and all the other changes it has produced are stressing the company to it's core, and you guys are certainly bearing plenty of it from what I gather. Hopefully we'll all emerge from it a much stronger and more profitable airline.

Your source ("Supposedly") sounds about as credible as mine. It all boils down to the new res system. If it goes online as planned, we'll start sooner than Q3 2014.

Talking

Are the ATN 717 guys going to have to pay for their 737 type prior to making the transition to SWA?

SWA put out a letter last week saying all AT pilots who need a 737 PIC type rating will be provided one when they come through for conversion training. In other words, free 737 type ratings for all Trannys who need them!
