To be fair to our SWA brothers, when AirTran first started flying international we had our share of "hiccups" and "war stories". This "we're ETOPS equipped" faux pas is nothing. Wait until they try to clear customs in MCO with apples in the flight attendant's bags when Barney the Beagle is on duty.

I'm hearing a lot of rumors that the Feds pulled the classII nav due to mx issues and FA training.

Sort of. Class II wasn't "pulled" but suspended until March. SWA decided they could use the -800's more effectively elsewhere than the one BWI-SJU run. It's also true that some inflight crews have not completed their over water training - this will buy some time for that. I haven't heard anything about mx being an issue, and to the best of my knowledge, this wasn't anything FAA driven.
