I was talking about the lack of retirements and subsequent very long upgrade time.

OK, I will admit I'm lost. You quoted no one and the post it was directly under was talking about SWA pilots leaving for Delta.

Should have been obvious.. I'm responding to the subject of the thread, i.e. very long upgrades and comparably few retirements.

I thought the original poster made the statement below.

The title was nothing but "SWA upgrades", mentioning nothing about the length of time to upgrade or lack of retirements, but only asking if F.O.'s were bypassing. Now do you see my confusion?

Whoops, yep. My apologies!

I skimmed over the pages after my post on that and it then took the theme I posted on tonight.

Nothing to see here.

I believe that. I have been taking an informal survey of FOs I fly with and about 50% say they are considering leaving. Among the single, under 5 years seniority and max age 35 the percentage is much higher. FWIW.

How exactly does a pilot from another airline get in touch with a Delta chief pilot? Does he just call the switchboard and identify himself as a pilot seeking a job and they directly connect him with the chief pilot?
