SWA upgrades

To accomplish that and still maintain a relatively flat fleet, we will augment our Boeing deliveries with pre-owned aircraft.
There are 114 deliveries available through 2015.
There are tables that I do not know how to paste without formatting errors. Here's the article.

SWA does not retire 50% of their pilots in the next 20 years so barring massive growth I'd say a new hire today is looking at a 20+ year upgrade. I'm showing about 3,600 age 65 retirements between now and 2030 from a combined list of 8,000. Does anyone have any better numbers or know where to look on SWAPA.ORG?

Another factor to the fleet size numbers is that several extra 300's are being kept on property as spares due to the higher Mx issues with the older jets. Also keep in mind that with the de-hubbing of ATL there's a need for more seats in the longer-haul markets as SWA starts connecting former AirTran cities to places like HOU, MDW, DEN, BWI.

+1 for 20+ year upgrades in a zero growth environment.
Not that I'm happy about that, but it's a distinct possibility.
Growth will probably occur after the last former AT FO retires (prior to upgrade, of course). Part of GK's plan to punish ALPA and AT pilots for turning down the first offer.

I applaud it, especially if they're senior to me! Heck, even if they are junior to me I applaud it. I sincerely hope everyone in this profession has the opportunity to one day wind up at their job of choice.
