Hello everyone. I was wanting to see if some Southwest guys can answer some questions I have about Southwest hiring system. So currently I work at Express-Jet airlines. I have worked there for about ten years. I am looking on moving up to the major airlines. I really don't want to work for the feeder airline that is associated with Express-jet. I have been doing 737 training in my spare time. How often does Southwest airlines hire and if I do apply their how long does it usually take to get a call back. My contract with express-jet will end this month and I am looking though to join southwest airlines.

Sorry for the confusion everyone. So currently I am a ERJ-145 captain for express-jet. This morning I got a call that my application has been accepted by Southwest airlines. But I have been doing so training on the 737 prior to getting that call from Southwest. I am not a 737 FO yet for southwest but once my training is down I will be holding that rating for the 737. I training will not begin till a couple months from now. So I am still an express-jet pilot

Totally agreed. How can your "contract" with ExpressJet end? It's not a contract job. Why the hell would you put SWA 737 FO under your avatar. Your previous posts were rather "peculiar" as well.

If you've worked for XJT for 10 years you'd probably know they never were written out as "Express-Jet".

He must not have read any of the postings on this thread.

I sent my application in about 7 months ago. Folks if you want to sit hear and degrade me about this that's fine. I know my post and story seems a little bit like it is not matching up but I am telling the truth and if you don't want to believe me that's your own damn problem. I was not contracted with expressjet I worked there for ten years I am sick of working there so I applied to southwest.
