Good On Ya
LMFAO. You know it's pretty insulting when even you get fired up. Face it man. You'll never change the way they look at us or the whole merger. They got the vast majority of our Cptn seats and a lot of our seniority and yet notice the way they still view things.
We're dealing with a mentality that actually proposed in SLI talks that all AirTran pilots get put on probation. Hell, a lot of them are itrate that some of our guys didn't have to pay for their B737 type rating and actually wanted to get reimbursed for theirs.
As I said before. It's an airline made up of people that have no other airline experience (perspective). That's the majority of the problem. You'll always be "one of them" whether you like it or not
As for that "other" possibility, highly doubtful. Why would they be hiring then? Unless they planned on buying the airframes and not taking the pilots.......

I have to admit when I read what he wrote my jaw did drop.

Good conclusion. Let's bring the thread back to topic fellas. There are plenty of threads out there to rehash merger inequities. This one is for something that benefits everyone - people below you on the list.

Last class this year is 1 Oct. Also heard there is hiring for next year. No time frame given.
IMO: With the remaining AirTran pilots Transitioning early next, I would believe hiring would be after them.

Just FYI for guys in the hopper for upcoming classes and hopefuls -
October vacancy came out. Lots of guys from June and July class got their top choice on bases as long as it wasn't Orlando, Denver, or Atlanta. Plenty of Dallas and Houston. August class all pretty much ended up in Oakland with a few exceptions. AirTran dudes are spread out all over the system.

Yes. It's worth mentioning ATL, DEN and MCO.
If you are a new hire it will take you ~this long to hold each domicile:
ATL ~10 years
MCO ~3 years
DEN ~1 year
Subject to change if the rumored BNA and TPA virtual bases are added.

I also have seen a gradual migration of guys going west for better seniority as well as a flattening effect amongst all the bases at the very bottom of the list. It used to take years to get into Dallas and now guys are getting it in 2 months. A couple more bases would have a huge positive impact especially on the east coast.
You can add LAX & STL to the list of rumored bases I've heard as well.

BNA = 82
TPA = 62
LAX = 117(more than Oakland)
STL = 90
Looks like LAX will be the next crew base.
