Per DAL's most recent info, since Jan1 2014 to NOW, 12 pilots have left SW for DAL. That's hardly "droves".

Guess what? BEFORE 9/11 pilots left SW, as WELL AS OTHER LEGACIES to go to ANOTHER LEGACY.

UAL's MEC put out a thing saying they were "losing pilots to AA" in a propaganda speech about how "dreadful" it must be at UAL.

Meanwhile, AA has hired what? MAYBE 60 pilots off the street this year? Like a large quantity came from UAL? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. As of a two-ish months ago, AA STILL had pilots waiting almost a year from CJO to go to class.

How many references does SWA typically call? I had 4 called, none of whom were my listed references.

They called one of mine plus my former chief pilot. I think they'll call as many as they need to until they're satisfied one way or another.
Yes, they are known to call reference outside your list such as check airman or other contacts the interview team/hiring board know personally.

If they didn't call your refs, whom did they call if you don't mind my asking?

A few current SWA Pilot's that had done internals for me. Technically, still references, just not the ones I had listed on the app.

That's a strong sign of support of the Swa culture/business if several, in one class no less, turned down a legacy class to join Swa. Maybe they all lived in Swa bases, that would explain a lot.
