Thanks

You'll be reimbursed around $550 I think. Don't mess with Appogee. Get your own with extra storage. It HAS to be an iPad Air. Not the iPad Air 2. It also has to be lte on any carrier.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if the lte carrier mattered.

It doesn't. The only reason to have lte is for the gps. Non-lte models don't have integrated gps.
There is no requirement to have service for it, and SWA won't pay for service.

Still nothing by 20 Nov, so I called People Department and was told they would look in to it and get back to me. It's now 25 Nov...and I've given up hope.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I interviewed on 2 Sep and didn't get the TBNT email until the 14th of October. They did the background check and everything. It was pretty frustrating considering that 10 of the 12 on my interview day for hired in by the end of September.

Moral of the story: don't talk about cleaning airplane lavatories as an example of a time you went above and beyond

Seemed like if background checks were being done it was a good sign. Did you do interview prep?

Yup ECC. I was pretty sure it was a lock but it didn't work out. The prep might have hurt me based on what people have been posting recently.

Well..I'm starting class on Wed (interviewed on 28 Sep and CJO on 29 Oct). FWIW, I used ECIC and thought it helped..but they could tell and I was honest about it when asked. Bought my iPad Air on Amazon (128 GB for $549), they reimburse $548 according to the EFB memo. Only 32's available on Apogee and Apple...probably because it is an iPad Air 1 and considered outdated i.e. "old version" according to Amazon. Hope to meet you all on the line at some point...assuming a non-typed guy like myself survives the 7 weeks in Dallas!

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

I'm starting SW new hire training in Jan and was looking to replace my black roller carry bag. The one I have used for the last 8 years of Corporate flying is pretty much shot. Is there one in particular that SW wants it's pilots to use or is there any SW discount for a particular type/brand? I appreciate any input.
