Re: DAL - don't let the Captains tell you there aren't any crashpads in Dallas. It's almost 50% commuters on the FO side. Several good crashpads over on Burbank by the GO. Easy access to DFW by train. Great base for commuters!

If I am not mistaken, as a matter of current fact, DAL has THE most junior captain. But that does not really tell a new hire much...
For wannabes trying to calculate how long to get the other domiciles as a new hire...the current rank order is ATL, MCO, DEN, LAS, DAL, HOU, MDW, PHX, BWI, OAK. But based on the raw numbers, ATL is an eternity, MCO a half eternity, and DEN an annoying wait of around a year. All the other bases are within roughly 100 of the bottom, which means one could wait it out to hold and not endure too much pain in the process...
(caveat inserted here)
As long as you are not the last class left hanging when hiring takes a strategic pause...then you will be "stuck" in OAK until the hiring machine cranks back up again.
Also good to note that if there are multiple classes that come to vacancy bid at the same time, the senior class will likely have zero folks get OAK, while the most junior class will all get OAK. So you will still hear stories of "everyone gets OAK" (even if only for a month!) and new stories of "everyone got BWI, PHX, and MDW!"
Hope that helps?

I used Centerline. I got the job at SWA.
For the prep they emailed some info, gouges and said to think up 10-15 stories that revolved around leadership, strengths, weaknesses, etc.
Then we did a 3 hour video chat to go over what to expect and how to figure out what they're wanting from the questions asked so that I don't ramble or have any awkward silence while I think. Then the night before the interview we met up and went over any questions I had.
They don't tell you what to say or anything. Centerline's whole deal is to be genuine and how to express yourself in the stories you tell so they can meet the real you in the 30 min or so that you have.
They asked in my interview how I prepared and if I did prep. I said I did and the reason was that it seemed kinda silly to not do everything I possibly could to be 100% prepared when SWA was the place I wanted to work at for 20 years. I didn't get the impression that they were turned off by it. They agreed with me that it's a small price to pay to get your dream job.
Your mileage may vary. For me it worked. Not a necessity but it helped me be more comfortable and I got hired.

I interviewed first week of October. I wore a dark blue suit with a tie my wife picked out. Definitely not the typical red power tie. It was a bright green with blue. And honestly I don't think it mattered that much. Although I did get four compliments from the girls in PD on my tie and I did get the CJO. Way to go wifey!
Suit style was very standard and conservative and well tailored.
LOI was still exactly as described in recent gouge.
I interviewed first week of October and my class date is December 14. It could have been December 2nd but I didn't have a 737 type so they had to put me in the 14th class.
Hope that answers all of your questions. Good Luck!

I'm also slated to be in that class.
Are they doing type and non-type rated classes? I have a type but was not told anything otherwise. I'm just hoping they don't slide me to the next class if that's the case.

Dudes with and without types are mixed in the same class. Your sim partner will probably be same (typed or non typed) as you.
