Can anyone post current Pay numbers for SW? I see what APC has posted, but it is "hourly" and I understand that SW pays by "TFP" and that is a different formula for calculation. Thanks!

Anyone care to comment on Emerald Coast and Centerline as they relate to SWA interview prep? Format, perceived benefits, etc.?

I did the emerald coast audio prep only and I thought it did a great job of getting you in the mindset of structuring your responses without coming across as canned or rehearsed.

First yr $50.17
Yr 2 $84.65

Monthly guarantee of 90tfp but 100-105tfp is a safe bet for every month except Jan/Feb. Any open time you pick up on top of your line pays at 2'nd yr rates.

Not to 'poo-poo' those that have done or wish to do the Interview Prep companies (I didn't do them and was offered positions at both SW and JB) but when I went to the SW interview several of the interviewers definitely spoke down about those that do the prep (this was just last month). They said that they can tell who does it and who doesn't and that it forces them to 'break down' those that do so that they can see the 'real you'. They actually thanked me for just 'being me' and not doing the prep (LOL, they could tell) as that is what they were looking for.

Again, not my words or views, just what I was told. Personally, I just studied up on both companies and all the interview gouge websites that I knew of and felt pretty good about it going in. No surprises.

That's pretty interesting. Especially since HR took over hiring processes at the airlines and began getting outside help (like United's Hogan) it became almost impossible to figure these interviews out. So Centerline and others were born. Now, they want to see the "real you." Maybe other airlines will follow suit. I see the semi-benefit of having an extra set of eyes (HR People) in the pilot hiring process, but i've always been a "let pilots hire pilots" kind of guy.

When the airlines hire new HR people, do pilots get to sit in and TMAAT them to death? What about when hiring airline accountants? Secretaries? Mechanics? Why do we as pilots put up with so much BS?

So IMHO I believe allowing psychiatrists, HR people, and Hogan assessments (and other crap) is to blame for the birth (and the use of) interview consulting companies. You want us to be ourselves? Get rid of HR during the interview process.

Just lurking in the thread and saw this... I just had my first (hopefully my last) Major Airline interview. HR and the CP both said very similar things to me...that they could more easily see who I was and what I'd be like to fly with and was offered a position a week later. they could easily tell who did a prep program and it was refreshing to see someone be themself. That being said an interview that weighs more heavily on tech might benefit more from a prep program. Thought it was interesting. Carry on.
