This is not entirely accurate. FAR 117 kicks in after your LOFT sim and the absolute minimum is 30 hours free from duty before IOE. That being said, the training scheduling folks are pretty accomodating and you can choose the base from which you will complete IOE (class seniority permitting).
If it were me, I'd bring a car. There have been several issues with the provided bus transportation, and life is much easier if you end up with a late (or early) sim period.

Was in recurrent recently and the manager of pilot hiring confirmed over 300 by December and 600+ Front loaded next year. This meets attrition and early retirements, plus added staff for summer flying in 2016.
Big simulator building construction begins in January. 18 sims with the capacity for 26. (Right now there are 10)
Training to go from single cue to dual cue flight directors will begin next year during CQT. (Not a big deal for me, but I suspect it will seriously move some people's cheese - I'm actually a big fan of dual cue FD) this is due to fleet commonality since the Max will be delivered with the dual cue.

Are they going to change the software on the -700/-800s to become dual cue?
