I am just excited that hiring is continuing. I assumed when I interviewed I would be sitting on the bottom of the list for a very long time.
Don't know if I mentioned it in a previous post, but a buddy with a December avail date got invited to interview. I agree that they are planning for massive growth, I am just interested to see where and how it happens with the impending retirement of the classics.

Yeah, because the hundreds and hundreds of upgrade slots that the "hired" pilots got thanks to our downgrades hasn't been enough, huh? I can't tell you what a wonderful feeling it is to fly with some guys that are now sitting in the left seat because I'm now sitting in the right seat. Awesome....... and yet it's still not enough, so the company and SWAPA continue to work together to squeeze more upgrades out of this deal.
The company's BLATANTLY front-loading upgrades so AirTran pilots get less of a bite at the apple in 2015.

Good.
Have a nice whackjob.

AFAIK,
The additional hiring is to cover 117 and the additional weeks of vacation that all the AirTran guys are bringing over. International Ops require more crews per plane than Domestic Ops. SWA may also be hedging their bets on the staffing that a new contract might require (redeyes), but that's complete conjecture.
Fleet to remain flat, flying to remain scarce.

Cleveland
Since Continental essentially pulled out of Cleveland when they merged with UA, that created an opportunity for SWA to fill the void. I can see CLE becoming a focus city with 100 departures a day in 2 years.
