Just scheduled my interview for Nov 10!
Here's the problem...
My Guard unit told me I have to deploy for two months (Jan-Feb). I've been trying to get out of it for several weeks for other reasons, but they say they have nobody else who can go - volunteer or they will non-vol me. So I finally caved and told them I would go... then got my SWA invitation the next day!
So my question is, will this be a problem for SWA? Would they hire me and wait until March to put me in a class? I'm pretty sure USERRA prevents them from discriminating or not hiring me based on that. Should I change my availability date in pilotcredentials for after my return, even though I've already been selected for interview? Should I just explain this under where it says: "Do you have any commitment that will not allow you to enter and complete, uninterrupted, a Training Syllabus of approximately 8 weeks once commenced?"
Just wanted to get some opinions, thanks.

A friend who just received a CJO from this last DB was called and offered a class range of Nov '15 to Mar '16. He took the Mar class for military reasons. Seems like if you have a Nov interview, then a DB a few weeks after that, that you would be given the option to start months later based on the previous data point.

Been 135 since
Current Chief Pilot of 135
Prior military but no military flying. Just an aircraft electrician during my stint.
Not really sure how I got the interview.
I don't know anyone at southwest.
No 737 type
Never been to a job fair.
I just simply cannot believe I actually got the call. Today is my first and only day off in 38 days. Using it to finish up prep. All of you posting and contributing have been immensely helpful, and I can't thank you enough. Regardless of outcome, needless to say I am thrilled beyond measure. I hope I'll be able pass it forward and help next set!

I would love to. But since my invite, today is my first and only day off. I fly all day tomorrow, then airline out for interview on moday, then interview in a.m. on tues. Really wish I had had time to prep.
This will definiteley be interesting. There is no doubt they will see the real me, no time to have rehearsed or research much.
Here's hoping they see me as a good fit. Cheers everyone!
