Also how soon are you put in CASS and have Jumpseat permissions? I saw someone else on here mention they went home most weekends during training. My previous company didn't have a Jumpseat agreement with SWA, but I assume business casual is acceptable? How soon do you buy your uniforms? And do you have to pay for your uniforms?

You'll be in CASS right away and yes you can and will be expected to Jumpseat a few times on the weekends to see what line ops are like. You are actually allowed to wear jeans to Jumpseat on SW airplanes but business casual is always ok. You will be fitted to your uniforms and leather jacket during the first couple weeks and yes you do pay for them. You are allowed to payroll deduct everything except the leather jacket and spread out the payments if you want to.

In my honest opinion, jumpseating in jeans shouldn't be allowed at all. Just like traveling in general dressed up like a bum, it demeans our career and our industry in a way that many of us think is disrespectful and, up to a point, shameful.
I, for one, take great pride in what we all do as professionals and like to dress the part, whether I'm operating the aircraft, asking for a ride in the j/s, or flying as a non-rev. Maybe it's the conservative in me talking, cause I'm by no means an old guy.
Just my 2 cents. Carry on fellas. I'm out!
