In the email, it specifically mentioned applying under a different reference #. Gets my hopes up, but I should know better...

That is completely untrue. My class had a guy in it who was on his 8th(!) 121 carrier (also flew Fortune 500 corporate) Lots of guys with 10,000+ TT and management or check airman experience. Numerous prior airline, both RJ and heavy metal.

It's still early. Patience is a virtue.

Thanks for shattering my hopes and dreams.

I'm kidding. That is good info, thanks for passing it along. In the corporate world, companies chase type ratings and undercut each other to obtain guys that have been given the opportunity elsewhere.. Then take full advantage of the experience that the pilot has gained because of it. The business model makes sense, but the flood gates opening the way they have, and hopefully continue to, will keep the HR departments very busy.

I was hired (multiple years ago) with 8 years and 6000+ hours at another 121 carrier.

It all has to do with the parameters loaded into the program to pick interview candidates from the resumes on file. For instance, if the parameters are set at applicants that posses: College degree, 737 type rating, check airman or instructor pilot and recency of experience and those parameters produce the desired amount of potential interview candidates then those folks will probably get the call. If your resume meets all but one of those requirements then potentially you won't get the call. Sooner or later the parameters will have to be loosened if and when the run doesn't identify enough potential candidates.

Does the current application system allow you to update your flight times and experience? I know folks that had updated recently used to be a parameter that was used to pick applicants years ago.

I hate this industry!!!
Not everyone that went to OBAP got the email so I would guess those that did probably have much of what you listed.

I share your frustration. I have had apps in for going on two years with what I would consider very strong qualifications, but have only heard crickets.

Hang in there guys. Hiring just started. I have no doubt that you'll get a call and most likely have to make a choice between SW, DAL, UAL, and AA before all is said and done. Lots of jobs, only so many qualified pilots to go around...
