Guys, I can assure you that not one single word will be uttered about what type of container your documents were carried in when it comes to evaluating your credentials by the interview team. I understand that it is stressful waiting for an answer but you have to just let it play out until you hear from them. Stressing about the smallest little detail will drive you insane. Good luck to all that are waiting for some news.

Agreed. Short of bringing your papers crumpled up in a black garbage bag (standard SWA carry on luggage), you are just fine. A briefcase, folder, backpack, or Knight Rider Trapper Keeper will work just fine.

I know everyone says stay conservative with the suit and tie, but looking back on it I kind of wish I had a little more fun with the tie. Southwest is all about uniqueness and personality. I even had some Southwest employees on the way to Dallas ask me about what tie I choose and that it's ok and encouraged to have some fun with it. I know consulting companies tell you to go red or blue and the tie is not a thing to stand out with, but I just get the vibe at Southwest that they would rather see something other than the standard red or blue tie that they see day in and day out. They want to know who YOU are as a person. They want someone that can have fun.

With that said I am still very glad I used interview prep and would have had a very hard time without it, but make sure you just be yourself and have fun with the interview.
There is even a quote from Herb Kelleher in the book Nuts that talks about Herb saying Southwest has no place for professionals. Something along the lines of "Professionals need not apply. Hire for attitude. Train for skill." And... "Anybody who likes to be called a 'professional' probably shouldn't be around Southwest Airlines," he says. "We want people who can do things well with laughter and grace." The point here is not to offend people who think of themselves as professionals. Southwest Airlines is bursting with professionalism, but it is a unique brand, practiced with flair. "
Granted professionalism is a very important part of the business we do, but a fun, likeable, laid back personality seems to be valued greatly at Southwest from the impression I got. Read the book Nuts. Lots of great info and it gets you even more excited to work there.

Went to OBAP and got the email inviting me to apply within the 72 hour window. Stats:
Received the email Friday, 8/21 @ 11:45am MST
6200TT
2800 TPIC
3 Corporate type ratings
No 737 Type
0 Internal LOR
I'd trade 3 fingers to get an interview, and 6 to get a job offer.

That would limit you to only one hand to use to flip off the Deltoids, which would preclude any chance of the employment you so claim to desire. Keep your middle fingers as a minimum.
