Question How's it looking?

I've read through a litany of pages and I'm trying to get a clearer summary of a timeline for a new interviewee or hire.

If you interview in mid-August, how long do you typically wait before you find out if you are hired?

How long after the getting hired or the interview does someone start training?

Is there a domicile "drop" when you get to training or does everyone go the same place as a new hire?

Is seniority in the class derived by something other than the last four of your SSN?

Where are new hires going these days? I believe last year a lot went to Oakland.

How long do you think it would take a new hire to get Dallas?

Thanks for the info.

Yes.

Is there a good site for interview gouge? The "WillFlyForFood" stuff is great but it looks dated.

Seems like the wait from interview to CJO is between 2-4 weeks. Then the wait to start class is another 1-2 months. Initial bases will be assigned by Training Scheduling for 1 month then you will bid for your permanent base based on seniority. Seniority in class is solely determined by age. Junior bases are Oakland, Las Vegas, and Phoenix in that order. Probably only take a couple months to hold Dallas these days.

Potato,

We've worked with numerous civilian only backgrounds this year. They are very well qualified. Some have no type or Check Airman experience, but they do have plenty of TPIC time.

Keep the faith.

Any guys on here get offered a job after being interviewed without any internal recommendation at Southwest? And does anyone know if a non-pilot Southwest Employee is able to submit a recommendation? The only people I know really well at Southwest are a husband and wife who I have known for 10+ years. She is a FA and he is in management at TPA.

Are the classes normally only a week apart? Did this hold true for August?

I know pilots that are now scheduled for 09 and 16 September, so are the 2-per-month classes staggered by only one week during each month?
