What is the average line credit/trip value? Just trying to run some numbers...
When the APC fact sheet for Southwest says that second year pay is $97, is that a trip value or has that been converted to hours?
Based on the pay scale on APC, how many hours could one expect to be awarded as a junior lineholder each month (before picking up or trading)?
Thanks guys!!

The min line value per month is 85, 87, or 89 trips depending on how many days are in the month. The average awarded line value is usually somewhere between 90-100 trips. The $97 on APC is an estimated conversion to an hourly rate so not perfect. 2nd year pay is currently $84.65 per trip.

One more data point for you to consider. Supposedly the system wide average is around 1300 trips per year. Take that times the trip rate plus per diem and you'll get a good idea of the average. Then adjust up or down depending on how much you want to work. Also, average days off per month for all lineholders is 17-18.

Also, apparently quite a few are taking an early retirement because the market is so good and they're retirement accounts are doing so well.

Living in domicile, 20 minutes from the airport is an entirely different ball game financially at Southwest.
Last year I flew around 1575 TFP at 3rd year pay of $94.25. That sounds like a lot of flying or TFPs but in actuality as a non-commuter it was pretty easy in my opinion. I only flew 168 days and had a bunch of other days sitting at home on reserve by the pool not getting called in.
If there is ANY WAY you can swing it move to a domicile. Best of luck to all those applying and to those hired -- Welcome Aboard!

Your average of 1300 Trips for Pay (TFP) per year is close -- SWAPA says it is closer to 1260 TFP per year. However, that is average. From my experience the real differential lies in whether you live in domicile or commute. I've done both.
