Southwest hiring info

Lol. Yeah, I'm definitely fried after that kind of stint, but I'll tell you what......I'm envious of the 12 day trips that some of the Delta wide-body fleet has or had. 12 days and you're done for the month (granted I don't think they were very productive).

Southwest hiring info
I still haven't seen anything official about this July rumor. Last I heard from the company is still September. Where did you guys hear July?
Looks like in June I'm going to fall back onto reserve so believe me, I want to welcome the new folks ASAP!

I was told it was in a domicile newsletter put out by the Chiefs.
Hiring board 6th or 9th of June.
I am running with it. It is a pretty solid rumor that has actually been substantiated by multiple people. I still plan on asking when I go to the grand temple next month.

Also, I am going over my application this evening and have a question about checking the box for check airman.
Questions 24 asks if you have ever been a check airman, stan/eval , NATOPS evaluator and a jet/turbine/turbo prop aircraft?
Question 25 says have you ever been a line check airman? Please list company/organization and type aircraft.
If I am a regional check airman, do I answer yes for both questions 24 and 25, or does question 24 strictly pertain to military guys.
Thanks a bunch!

Thanks. I didn't haven't answered correctly… Shoot! I guess I was dazzled by the military jargon in question 24.
Do you know, does Southwest rack and stack the applications on a regular basis, or did they hand score them like Delta does? In other words, now that I fixed this error, will my application be re-scored for the next round of invites?

The way it was explained to my interview class, the hiring manager gives HR his set of criteria. They then pull them from the stack with the computer. If the stack is too big, he increases the criteria until it is the right size. This takes the "personal" element out of the interview selection process.
So to answer your question, from the way it was explained to us, they are racked and stacked out of the computer every time invites go out.
From my interview class almost a year ago, the norm was mil 2,000 fighter or 3,000 heavy instructor/Stan eval. Civvy 7,000 hour LCA or senior captain.
Those mins are sure to start trending down if they haven't already.

I wouldn't sweat it. I think after a several hundred get hired underneath you, you should be able to have very good schedule flexibility unless you're in one of the senior bases (ATL & MCO).
If you're willing to spend time on your smartphone several times a day, you'd be amazed at what kind of finagling you can do with your schedule.

Thank you for this explanation. I'm well above the civilian numbers you posted were the norm a year ago, but without the type I may be waiting awhile.
Hoping they send some fresh invites out soon!
