Yes you should fill it out. I believe the initial app (if you can call it that) on the SWA site just looks for basic qualifications. When you receive the link to fill out the pilot credentials "app", it means you have the basic quals to go ahead and enter more information to be formally screened. The invite (if selected based on the info on the pilot credentials website) comes after that, and I've heard that its accompanied by a request for more in depth information.
An email to fill out the pilot credentials app hardly means that you "made the cut", but rather that you possess the minimum requirements to be screened.

I've heard of guys getting a TBNT email before the window closes, but only because they mismarked something on the app that made them show as unqualified. I would fill out the pilot credentials form either way. It can't hurt.

Do you meet the published minimums?

I have a buddy who has no TPIC time who got the thanks but no thanks. Then got the link to Pilot Creditials today. So I guess they are letting everyone fill out Pilot Creditials.

Maybe the number of applicants didn't meet expectations...

This happened last window too. You can thank the SWA IT department who is tweaking the application process after only having two years to perfect it.

If you are unsure about your status, please do yourself and every other future applicant a favor and flood the people department with emails kindly explaining the conflicting emails that you have received and ask what your status is. They should be able to tell you what to do and hopefully this will get fixed next round.

As someone who generally hedges my bets, I would go ahead and fill out the PC profile anyway. Invites should go out soon. Best of luck to all who applied.

Can't say for sure, as I have been updating my PC profile since a previous window, but I think any one can create a PC profile (even specific to SWA) at any time, even without the window open. Any one create their SWA PC profile BEFORE a window opened?

Yes, created my PC SWA-specific profile back in September. As long as you update it at least once a year, your profile will remain active. Anyone interested in SWA should have the PC filled out. I would say even if you do not meet the current minimums, because if for some reason the minima were lowered, you would be GTG already.

BLUF: It seems you get an email directing you to fill out a PC profile, even if you already have a current one. So just make sure you have a current SWA-specific profile with all green checkmarks.

I had a PC SWA-specific profile that was updated with all green checkmarks on March 6 (after the questions had updated). I submitted my icims application on March 6. Double checked everything was all green checks, GTG.

Then I get the following email on March 10--

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Pilot for Southwest Airlines!

Please use the following link https://swa.pilotcredentials.com to complete your individual profile to be eligible for additional consideration in our Pilot selection process. If you already have a profile built on Pilot Credentials from a previous application window, please ensure your profile is current, including flight hours and ratings. Please note some of the questions have changed. If your profile is displaying all green checkmarks then your profile is complete.

Please note there is no single profile of Pilot experience that guarantees selection in our process. It is important to keep your profile up to date as we continually assess candidates for interview.

Thanks again for your interest in a flying career at Southwest Airlines.
