Don't know about the money, but much of our training now is based on info fed in from FOQA data. They're pretty committed to this method. The fact that we're correcting mistakes that already occured is another issue.

More questions - does your FOM state that you have to comply with TCAS RA's? Does your FOQA data record that? How about unstable approaches? Are pilots there held accountable for deviations in any way other than if somebody turns them in?

Not certain about RA's getting flagged, though complying with an RA is not optional (some exceptions when in visual contact). Unstable approaches are a hot topic. If you're outside parameters, it's flagged. Not positive about meaning of your last question. If you make a mistake, you're better off self-disclosing, or the airplane discloses for you. Either way, it gets looked at, and some sort of remedial action is taken.

With us we dont have an option. we must comply with an RA. You better be sure you have the correct traffic and all traffic in sight if you dont adhear to an RA.

Probably true. You guys are always civil, but I don't think that alone gets you private inboard runways. I always assumed it was the lavish pizza parties that tipped the scales. I think I heard rumors of hookers attending, and of horrific kitten sacrifices.

Where is this "private inboard runway" thingy of which you speak? With the increasingly dumbed-down ATC system we all suffer with, I sure don't feel like I get much special handing these days.

....and as tr4a alluded to, what little courtesies we may be extended probably have much more to do with not having the rep that "Unable" is your airline's favorite word.

It was mostly in jest, but I was thinking for example of 17R in MCO, a runway we can't beg our way onto during the arrival phase, should there be a SWA plane boarding, or planning to board. And yes, some of us impolite fools have been taught how to see please and thank you by our mommas, alas to no avail in MCO.

But I said my peace about the speed thing. It was brought up that FOQA will eventually ensure our respective Chief Pilots will be notified by the plane if we even think about doing something wrong, and men in trenchcoats will haul us off to retraining upon landing.

As for the ATC issue, that horse has long been trampled and pulverized in other threads. I'll simply continue to wear my IHSWA cap, as I anger controllers throughout the land, by refusing to reciprocate when they say "good day" on a frequency change.

Unable!

Sink r8, out.

So you admit you used to get special handing?
