Yes, occasionally JFK-SAN has been covered by a A320. As with anything I guess YMMV.

No doubt, but it is still a 737.

I have about 8,000 hrs in the -200,-300 and -400 and although I'm sure the NG are much nicer, it's still a 737 and don't have any interest in flying one or riding in one.

If I'd left and gone to SW back in the '90s that might be a different story, but I didn't............

We, US, have CFMs on the east 320s and I have had more range issues on it than the other models. Often it is a weight issue. I wondered if other airlines had higher weights. The extra 10,000lbs of fuel and 205,000lb take off wt. really help the 321. If you have lots of runway, no rocks to avoid and don't mind the first few hours of cruise at FL290 to 310, it can make it coast to coast in all but the worst winds.

In 9 years I've never had a divert for fuel in it.
