5 1/2 hours on a 737 with no food or a movie........

We've been doing it for years already. I did BDL-LAS recently blocked at 5:50.

No AVOD, but unlike most, our wifi is satellite instead of ground based. This makes it usable anywhere - not just over the Conus.

Looks like Boeing can build a 737 in 11 days. So I guess those 737-800 that are coming out for SWA won't be started until sometime in Jan 2012. See the below link for more info:

I heard JetBlue is going to tap that market with their new A321s. Offering free movies, etc for the flights. Plus they have the best snacks and it's all you can eat.

I guess mediocrity doesn't take all that long.

The A321 is a pig with a much shorter range payload then the 737-800. It is quite a bit worse then the A320 and Jet Blue has had big problems in the winter with fuel stops going East.

The A321 is in between the 757 and 737-800 on hauling capacity. It is quite underpowered, but I am unsure if it has the 42,000 lb capacity fuel tanks that the 319 and 320 have which would affect its range. It has the same seating capacity as a 757, though. (edit: The A-321's that USair has have 52,000 lb fuel capacity. That would easily do a transcon with 183 pax.)

Remember that the 737-800 was a response to Boeing getting schlacked in sales going to the A320, which was introduced at the same time Boeing introduced the 737-400 and 500. The 737NG's have the additional fuel capacity (48,800 lbs) so they can fill in where the 320 fell short on range.

Have you flown a A321? I have and it is a pig in climb performance, but at US it beats the pants off the 320 for range performance.

No idea what a 737 can do, and have No interest in finding out.

When did jetBlue get A321s?

I don't believe they have any 321's yet.
