The question still remains

Is it an infraction to state that the AT pilots are playing poker against a player with a loaded deck? You think it's fair to have a career killing gun pointed at your head forcing you to sign on the dotted line. This should go to arbitration like all mergers now and in the future. southwest is killing this industry. They are also very scared of playing nice with others, according to the law.

If it's so unjust, the AT guys will vote it down like they did SL9.
Are there any AT guys even on this thread?

We should make these threads a "time capsule" and come back in 10 years and see how horrible and destitute those poor FL (redheaded stepchildren all) really are. I suspect they will find that most us have treated them right and that they are doing pretty good QOL wise. I have gained 6% on this deal, decreasing to no gain by my retirement. That is the ONLY thing I have gained. Airtran dudes have lost some seniority. The seniority loss is softened by getting on a better contract, with more pay and more days off and bla bla bla. Their career earnings/days off etc are significantly enhanced. Tsquirt and I will just have to disagree on what is fair and equitable.
If I was King, the deal would have FL on the SWAPA contract much sooner and the Jr SWAPA guys with a stock or cash grant vested in 5 years to compensate for the delayed upgrade they are facing due to this acquisition. I'm not the King (lucky for some)

No they won't because they fear for their jobs. This concept is crystal clear to all but the SWA pilot group. And I don't know ANYBODY that thinks SWAPA is any kind of innocent bystander in this. I know ya'll don't care because you think you are invinceable (I am thinking the latest quarter is starting to prove otherwise, but that's a different discussion) but the rest of the industry is taking notice. Don't believe me, that's fine, but ya'll better make hay while the sun shines, because this is your silver bullet. NOBODY is gonna let this happen again. Lorenzo.. I mean, Kelly has emptied the chamber. Good luck, and welcome to Atlanta.

You would know what flame-bait is. I am not looking for a fight with you, but you absolutely refuse acknowledge that real harm would come to SWAPA with your straight relative list. Do you think relative seniority would have been fair, had we purchased Skybus? Be honest in your answer! Nobody is accusing FL pilots of being inferior or feeble minded, but they sure worked for a sucky company with a sucky contract. We won't agree to what is fair and what isn't, but how about you at least act like a grown up and ease up on the hyperbole.

You guys wouldn't know fair if it bit you in the nose. Fair would have been to protect the SWA guys hired before 93 then straight ratio after that. No fences. Trust me on this.. fences are a total waste and it holds the company back. we have 2, and they really protect no one that need it to begin with. I know nothing about skybus, so i have no comment about that supposition. I would say that if they fly only 737s, that a straight ratio would work there too. The fact that they work for a "sucky company with a sucky contract" is the crux of the issue with you guys, and the fact is that is is irrelevant. Your better game plan would have been to integrate them with some sort of dignity and equality instead of a stapler, and they might be more willing to drink the Herb juice. Now you might have a mess, and it is your own fault. DAL/NWA did a good job of merging to airlines, and ya'll are a lot more equal than we were. The main difference is that management stayed out of it instead of breaking out a hammer from the get go. Yours should have been done in an afternoon, but your egos are waaaaay too big. Like you said, I shouldn't care, and really I don't, but the way you guys expect them to just roll over and enjoy it is too juicy to pass up without comment.
