The question still remains

So what is the problem with that?
- AT pilots have argued that seniority is more important than pay. The SWA 717 new hires will be junior to every AT pilot.
- AT pilots were advocating a relative seniority system where a 6 year AT pilot (junior captain) would make more than a 10 year SWA pilot (senior FO).
- AT pilots have argued that if one group gets a large pay increase, that increase in no way harms the other group. Additionally, the group who gets no pay raise should not feel slighted at all.
Now, strangely, it seems to be a problem and inherently unfair when someone junior makes more money. I don't understand...

What it is...
I think it will pass both sides 70/30.
Airtran pilots will be making better earnings and have better career benefits. I don't care if they are on the 717, they will still have things better than previousy under the old regime. (No, really they will...)
Most AT pilots will be SENIOR to me, meaning most will make more than I do and will advance to Capt. sooner than I will.
That is the present reality, and personal feelings aside, I can make peace with it.I get a real bad itch over the fact someone from the outside will be senior to me. Especially the very few still left at AT, that were scabs from EAL that benefitted from this. Fortunate enough there only a very few in this category. I am petty enough to say this, I hope those guys retire early.
As for the rest of the AirTran pilots, they are like every other pilot group out there. I know several and flew with them at other airlines. The guys I know, and the ones I have met have are pretty decent and top notch. They have not said much negative about coming over to SWA. Most have said they can't wait. Their words, not mine. I believe that once things start happening swords will be drawn less at each other. Ofcourse AT, like every other Airline, has there 10-20% of flying rectums. (there is no escaping that percentage, no matter who or where you fly at).
Some people are not one bit happy about this, some people will never be happy about it. Most will ***** now, but make peace with it, and move forward. Although opinion is really varied on the subject, the fact is, regardless of how you feel, it is gonna happen. So really what is there to do about it now? Be miserable for the rest of our careers (like at USAir/AWA) or move on instead of wallowing in the fecal remains of this?
Maybe I am foolish to think there are bigger things ahead for WN and FL? But really right now, what difference does anyones opinion make?
I do look very forward to the prospect of sucess that WN will have in ATL. Why?, because any sucess in ATL makes Delta squirm (haha ..just kidding..)
Either way, I am pretty sure it is going to happen.

Yup, what he said.
I voted 'yes'. Most of the guys I know voted 'yes'.
In spite of the gnashing of teeth on the Internets, I'm excited about the opportunity.
I'm looking forward to the day when I get yelled at by tsquare after a good round of DAL vs SWA.

Yep, everyone I know here at AT who is voting yes, is only doing so because they feel there is no other choice except unemployment. I will not forget the way this deal was handled. I will start feeling better when I am on the SWA side of the fence and more importantly, if the B scale becomes a thing of the past. As I've written in other posts, I'm not too optimistic of SWAPA's support though.

I believe SWAPA will treat you guys fine, just like any other SWA pilot. It would not be smart on their part to act any other way.
"B" scale will go away, count on it.
Don't believe all the ALPA rhetoric, it only makes you bitter and unhappy, they have been doing it that way forever. With all the BS and ranting aside, take a look at the big picture for yourself and then decide.

The angered outcry over SL9 was so strong that there was no way the MEC was going to let that go to vote.
Are you WN guys enjoying the 737-700s that FL was supposed to take delivery of? (If you didn't know, a number of the deliveries in recent months were originally FL slots.)
