The question still remains

P.S. There was also a 2 year pay protection for displacements. I don't recall seeing any AT's folks being offered the same......

That pretty much says it all. Tsquare is only interested in what's best for SWA.
That's why he spends so much time over here on the SWA/AirTran threads....because he cares so much. Look at the previous page of posts, he spent over two hours online last night.

Is there some special certificate on the AT Captain seats that says "property of ALPA" on it? There was a small group of Morris guys who wasted a ton of their own money trying to sue SWA over the left seats that were "stolen" from them. They lost.

I am a fan of legally recognized pilot associations. Period. I support SWAPA, APA, ALPA, etc. I believe that the pilot community needs these "mutual aide societies". With that said,,,,,, this isn't an ALPA attempt to steal your SWAPA seats. It's the AirTran group trying to maintain a present condition.
Being an ex ALPA Master Chair, I assure you that ALPA would have prefered for AirTran to remain AirTran. Being somewhat of a sceptic regarding ALPA National, I am surprised that National didn't just walk away when they realized that the AirTran dues were going away. Just my honest opinion.
Were you to change your statement to read "property of the AirTran pilot seniority list", I'd have to say that most of us in the rest of the industry would answer -YES!

Nah ... apparently, they say "property of SWAPA".

AT could have had ALL of those seats and a 7 year fence around ATL but chose to turn down SL9. Those seats actually belong to the shareholders of SWA who bought them / pay the leases -- who gets to sit there depends on whoever's union does the better job at the negotiating table.

This is why outside people are upset, this is not a negotiation, this is an extortion. Whatever SWAPA gets has nothing to do with their negotiating skill and has everything to do with them getting their management to threaten the AT pilots with furlough in order to steal their jobs. Maybe you are proud of that.
