All negotiations are about power, it always has been that way and it always will be that way. If you honestly believe that ALPA would not exhaust every ounce of power they have in any given situation you simply aren't being honest with yourself. SWA is driving the bus currently and they can and will do everything they can to achieve the outcome they are looking for. If you had an illusion that SWA was not a ruthless negotiator you were incorrect.
I'm only going to say this one more time because it's apparently pointless. ALPA had little to no involvement. We sent in 4 real gentlemen who negotiated a 4 party process agreement. Too bad 3 of the parties knew all along it was a joke. So, yes, we were naive to behave as gentlemen.
At least with the old management we knew they were liars. The future looks about the same, contrary to statements made to my face.

And yet, if you personally were given the choice to continue forward with this deal or walk away and continue with the former status quo, you would choose to continue forward. There is obviously some reward that you see coming that will make this all worth while in the end. Sometimes rewards only come with gamble and sacrifice.
Please enlighten me about your sacrifice.

For starters, your union did not negotiate in good faith in the first agreement. That was what got them in the situation that they're in now. If you negotiate in bad faith, the rest of the process is spoiled. I don't know how you can complain about other parties not living up to an agreement when you violate the very first step.
That may have been ops normal in AirTran company negotiations, but that's really not the way that it works here.

For the record, I never trusted you. And don't worry, you'll grow into that weight.
You are talking about Daddy ALPA, right?
Ohhh, I get it, you just realized your dad can't actually beat up my dad
OK, back to being serious. That was a stupid characterization RCD. And if you want to continue to use school yard analogies, I'll continue to answer with schoolyard analogies.

Proving, that you are not only the chubby kid taking swipes from behind daddies legs, but also doing it with a mouth full of chocolate. Dribbling down your chin.
If you're going to play the analogy game '1 seat'. You're going to need some help.

Negotiating in bad faith. Would signing a four party agreement that you had no intention of honoring qualify ? (Rhetorical)
The union followed the agreement to the letter. That included an MEC vote on whether to put it to a pilot vote. You not liking the result does not constitute bad faith. It constitutes following the process.
Bad faith would include threatening the jobs of 1700 pilots if they don't vote "Yes" to what you want.
25% of your pilot group will be made up of those pilots.

For starters, eight years at a regional working under terrible management and low pay. I had a SWA application in as soon as I met their minimums. Never got a call because I couldn't afford a type rating without a job offer in hand. I finally accepted a position as a check airman because I thought it would give me a chance at a SWA interview without the type. Got an interview and then a conditional offer of employment if I was willing to get a type. Spent my own money on the type rating because I understood it was the best investment in my future that I could make. Sat in the pool for a year and a half and then happily joined the team at the bottom of the seniority list. I turned down two offers of employment at airlines that I considered to be a lateral move because they were not airlines that I could see myself content at for the rest of my career (not AirTran, but similar in pay and work rules). Is that enough for you?

I know that you didn't sign up for the cult of herb but you will be assimilated.
One more thing, we weren't hiding behind our daddy. This has nothing to do with the "queer" negotiations that John Deere mentioned.
