BTW TS, what I found appalling was your comparison of Gary Kelly to Icahn. I let it go at the time. Too many TWA guys said all that needed to be said.
I'll stand by that comparison if he parts out ATN. There will be no difference between the two at that point. none.

If it happens, then the only difference between the two is that Icahn no longer had pilots who revered him.

Key words: "At this income level." I think after 4 or 5 months with a $5000 a month payraise, the AirTran folks will start saying to themselves, "Hey, this place ain't so bad afterall..."

You might very well be right. But the question then becomes, after 9 or 10 years with no upgrade, because of "the deal" will they still be saying that? Maybe they will.

Somehow I doubt the arbitrators are spending their time reading an anonymous internet forum preparing for an arbitration that may, or may not even happen. (okay, probably will...) Even though, apparently, the Delta ALPA will base negotiation strategy decisions on SWA salary info they glean from anonymous internet posts, I doubt the arbitrators will.

I'd buy anyone a beer! Even WM...unless he ends up senior to me then I'd let him buy me a beer!

Life is short, beer is cheap.

Really ?

They're proposing a downgrade of 40% of our Captains. If you think they'll be receiving a "$5000 a month pay raise" you're delusional. It's a pay cut.

The deal is; 'take it or you'll be on the street two years after Arbitration'.
SWA and SWAPA working hand in hand. SWAPA protests binding Arbitration, and SWA parts out AirTran to prevent a USAir situation.

Nice.

Yep, we've got our 2%ers. Every airline does. The deal is going to be completed now so it doesn't matter what those guys say.

I don't know Gary Kelly, never had the pleasure. I only know that both he and Herb get good press. Probably deserved. That said, I can tell you without hesitation that the full court press was put on a couple days ago by management with backup from Herb and Colleen. Our flight admin is scared ****less.

Discussion about my seniority status (top 15%) and where it should be are no longer pertinent. What's done is done. Looks like I'll land around 45% if I'm lucky. Everybody feel better now?

If this had gone to arbitration, I would likely land about top 30% depending on how plug and pull was implemented. But, hey, I'm getting the SW CBA right? Wrong. We stay on our CBA for ????? no one knows. That part hasn't change since day 1.

No longer pertinent because management stated they weren't going to let YOUR group turn this into another US Air. Therefore, we could take the deal or prepare to be separated.

One of your MC guys tried that Morris Air argument on me (chance encounter.) "See how great everything worked out for them!" Let's see, small growing Southwest vs. mature Southwest. Apples and oranges.

There, that's all I've got. Flame away.
Everyone plays the hand they were dealt. We are ALL looking out for our own best interests. I am just a pawn in this chess game just as you are. If it works out better for me in the long run that is only because I entered the game with better cards.
