I can name a few CK who works for the company, JP who now works for the company, GM who now works for the company, and then there is SC who claimed we have "no more seniority" to give during the AT buy, never came back to the line, and is it true he bought a horse ranch right after he left SWAPA? Seems we had a lot of Trip pull queens like the ones mentioned who claim they are for the pilot group but are really in it for themselves. That's why I'm not voting on this one, I have not heard anything good about either Presidential candidates. How can you only fly one turn every 90 days, which accounts to 4 times a year and really know whats going out on the line?
The base reps is where you really get your yang for their yin. Those guys should be 100 be holding the senior BOD members accountable and should be holding their feet to the fire. I agree that it is a little too chummy right now as evidenced by all the recent votes.

Yep. All this.
They announced yesterday that the regular plan is going away in 2026 for non contract and some contract employees that negotiated it away for "enhanced" 401k match (10 percent). They have to fund those stock buybacks somewhere.
You had better believe they are going to start finding ways to operate around the margins of our contract. Having a good team in place is 100 percent in all our self interests. Dwelling on things like covid is counterproductive at this point.

3x pay for xmas- yeah that was ok
Uniform allowance shenanigans- still cant get a response from any rep or NC on this one
falling behind on implementation- hey guys they're trying
making us use sick time- strongly worded emails
time to start using that due money to protect the CBA. Isnt that why they took the dues on the bonus without a vote by membership?

Buybacks are now the thing again. UAL just announced theirs. But when you read the fine print, the BOD has total discretion on when they can do it. It is mind boggling that a company(UAL) that has 25 Billion in debt would do that with on 17 billion in cash. Totally upside down. But for us to take precious cash at the moment with all that capex to be spent on the 800 airplanes to be redone is also reckless. Moody’s just lowered their outlook on some of SWA’ senior unsecured debt. Still investment grade but some on Wallstreet are not impressed.
JR was the NC chairman. He helped write this current CBA. Which by the way, I voted for. Those who are entrenched with negotiating for four plus years have some idea what to expect from leadership at HQ. It doesn’t mean they agree with it. Doesn’t mean they sleep with the enemy. SWAPA doesn’t exist without SWA. SWA can’t fly airplanes without SWAPA’s CBA. I voted for him.

That's what I did. I can't support these guys after their stance on the vax, side letter 1, the holiday pay bs, etc. I want them to see at least one vote for the biggest tool on the list as an alternative to them.

When voting on the budget, don't forget the dues SWApA collected on your ratification bonus. This was not done on previous RBs, if I'm not mistaken. It appears they'll be using the money they took from you to fund some swanky new digs.

SWAPA leadership in days past decided to buy the empire central building. What they didn't do was maintain the building or sell it when it was wise. Now they are sitting on a commercial building in bad need of maintenance in a run down and crime ridden neighborhood. The real estate market sucks, especially for office buildings. Their proposal is to move the operation to a leased office in las colinas and sell the building on empire central. Sure, they could stay in the building and put more money into it, but what is the end game? At this point, keeping it would be throwing good money away. Total sunk cost fallacy. Time to move on.
I also disagree with dues on the bonus, but we aren't getting that back. They clearly need to be responsible in the budget. The membership has grown, the union provides valuable services, but some line items are pretty questionable. The budget will pass. It always passes. If you have grievances with it, the best way to address it is to vote no and to call the second VP directly. That is his job and he takes it very seriously.
Not voting because you are upset about Covid or whatever happened in the past is childish and counterproductive. Vote or quit complaining.
The union works for you. The best way to change it is to either vote your interests or run for office. I don't agree with the way things are run all the time, and I let my voice be heard. Just taking your toys and going home accomplishes nothing.

Quoting your post just to have an anchor point. Not all of this is directed towards you. This thread is lots of assumptions and not really any good information.
