Speaking of FAs. I see the company is going to hire 2000 internals as FAs , as we are already overstated right now . Hopefully after they are done all the training, they fire 3000-5000 of the lazy ones that never do a service.

They are trying to end the year with a lower overall headcount, so it makes sense to open an internal window vs just doing outright layoffs. First year FAs are cheap to keep on the payroll and they will eventually need them as attrition and eventual growth happen.

I think most of the FA attrition happens from the bottom of the list. Hard to give away (or even sell) your trips when they are all ready reserve.
I also assume there is some level of overmanning where junior FAs save them money by flying trips that would go VJA to senior FAs.

Ask a NetJets pilot how valuable those points are... Hell as a commuter I rack up enough each year for a few nights free. I flew with a clown back in the corporate world that would negotiate a couple cents off per gallon at Avfuel to not take the fuel points so the airplane owners that would buy $1500 bottles of wine with dinner could save $8 on fuel....

When our corporate “leadership” started having company meetings where they mentioned our pilots spent too much on lunch in Washington DC, I knew it was time to move on. Of course, we spent the money to top off the jet, order sedan service, catering, landing fees, deicing, etc…but my $30 lunch was the problem! LOL

Once pax realize that we actually have the worst service in the industry, we are really screwed. None of them want to work and constantly beg for the seatbelt sign to stay on.
