Highly recommend you watch the video that just came out by crew planning. Three day trip with two duty periods. One leg out and then back. Will pay 19.5 TFP's. commutable on both ends. It wil go senior I believe.

First, the contract won't let them put more than one leg on a redeye duty period. You have to have proper rest prior to the leg, which doesn't really fit with the regular schedule, so the entire trip would have to be redeye which makes no sense if you are ending on the east coast since you would have to start from the east coast.
Second, any other way they did it would end in a dystopian nightmare of fatigue calls and I think they know it.
I think these lines will go very senior. I would highly consider bidding them if I were east coast based.

There are a couple reasons why they are constructing them this way.

You could make a four day with the following:
Day one: 6-7.5 hours of flying
Day two: 6-7.5 hours of flying (getting in around 2200 PDT)
--24 hour layover--
Day three into four: redeye
Not sure what your daily rig is, but for 5:15 thats a 21:00 four day. Would be shocked if this wasn't the end goal.

At other airlines, they frequently create three and four day trips (I've even seen five days) with trailing redeyes.
