Per the video from Mark Sutcliffe…..redeye lines will consist of 19.5 three days with a late report and one or two legs out to the West Coast, long layover to fly one leg back the next night and arrive back in base at 05:00-06:00 on Day 3.

So that looks like pairings only possible in Eastern time bases. Kinda like ETOPS only the Western most bases. Wonder what that will do for base desirability. Could see plenty of MDW, BNA, even DAL commuters bid East for the hope of fully commutable pairings.

West coast bases will likely see the same once Hawaii gets its own batch of redeyes

Plenty of your 3 days are un-commutable on 1 end and credit 19.5 trips, making it a 4day for commuters, where you pay for your own hotel day 1... Last "4day" I did was 70ish hours TAFB, start 11pm, done 10am, so super commutable both ends, and paid 20 for 14 hours of block. I know you guys are super gung-ho about working for every $ of pay, I prefer to get over $500/block hour, work 1 leg per day, and have 20 hour layovers. To each their own, I know you can make way more total, and your vacation pay rules....

It’s interesting that BA comes to AUS, PHX, SJC, MSY…and also that we have a non-rev agreement with BA now.
