Default Gangwal now on the B.O.D.

Are we trying to speed this place into total train wreck? Why not just light the bank on fire and file BK already? I have more faith in an angry bull in a china shop with Johnny Knoxville taunting it than this guy running 'Airport City'

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF RAKESH GANGWAL, EXPERIENCED AIRLINE EXECUTIVE AND ENTREPRENEUR, TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS (yahoo.com)

Not saying I agree with it.. but he has built Indigo into a massive airline and isn’t afraid of wide bodies or foreign currency.

Will it be renamed SouthEast?

My dad was at United when Gangwal was there and didn't have very good things to say about him and how he treated employees there....

He will fit in well here then. I never seen such hate for the front end employees as this place has .

Honestly. The disdain is palpable. I cry sometimes, but then I wipe my tears with hundred dollar bills.

This appointment is yet another gut punch for SWA labor. Nothing like having a guy who has hurt thousands of US pilot careers in charge of your bosses.

We don’t need anymore help with our downward spiral. We’re doing quite well with it already.

Agreed, and yet another reason I am glad we got the contract done when we did. I cringe to think what things would be like if it took another month or two.

Things to expect from Gangwal (after all, he is Stephen Wolf's protege):

I). A bankruptcy filing to abrogate contracts.
II). A new CEO with an entirely new C-Suite.
III). Industry-standard GDS/Flight Planning & Dispatch/Crew Scheduling Technology
IV). The introduction of the Airbus narrowbody.

Considering that Stephen Wolf and his wife have been retained as consultants by Elliott - get ready for the ride of your lives.
