I checked my speed recently on H at VPS. Felt like I was going 12 and it was 29. If y’all taxi at 10….ok.

Admittedly I have t been here very long but in the two years I haven’t seen this scenario play out, heck I have t heard it mentioned. I think it was the old stereotype that still lingers.

Have you ever thought the issue might be with you and your hang up with SWA ? You seem obsessed with everything WN

Maybe it’s no longer happening but I’ve seen it myself over the years. Cutoff in LAS when Southwest never replied to numerous calls from ATC to give way. Always asking for a direct with ATC no matter how busy the controller is at the time. Watching several land on 24R at LAX with max breaking to make the reverse high speed to save :30. The reputation wasn’t given out of thin air.

You've never seen United cutting anyone off? Or American or Delta lollygagging on the runway sending others around, and then arguing with ATC on the frequency?

Did SWA cut off your application? You don’t need max brakes to make the reverse, and ATC works for me and you. Dont worry, UAL has a reputation as well. You don’t live in St. George, do you?

Less so. And the lollygagging to an impatient SWA pilot is safe general operating practice. Not implying everyone at Southwest is this way, but it’s a thing. Just trying to establish if that culture is an intentional pace and cadence. Arguing with ATC about being rushed is more valid than arguing about having to fly published route, allowing for spacing, or trying to avoid waiting your turn. Nothing personal and trying to keep the temperature down. This is just banter based on shared experiences.

The old way was ingrained from the 10 minute turn days. Those days are over. Now we can’t turn an 800 in 45 minutes. It’s not Herb’s airline anymore and the open hostility from the company to the pilot group has caused significant damage. Inefficiencies in the operation have degraded our schedules and as pilots we try to get our pax back on schedule more than not (at least that’s what us PM’ers do). If a shortcut is warranted, I’ll ask for it. As far as cutting others off (what is that?) or pestering ATC, I don’t see it.

When ATC asks you if you can take an immediate when you're holding short of the runway, and you say yes and get cleared for IMMEDIATE takeoff.. what would you say is the reasonable time for you to line up and apply takeoff thrust?
