Default Furlough rumors?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Hearing through the grapevine that the company and union are in talks of furloughing between 1400-1600 pilots in the coming weeks/months.

Anyone have anything to substantiate or debunk these rumors?

Your post history says otherwise about being a first time poster. Thanks for the FUD,

edit; just realizing APC calls comments “posts” and posts “threads”. So I guess that makes me a liar. Should have said this is my first “thread”

what grapevine? Other pilots, some FA’s? Pretty sure the union came out and said in multiple forms of communication that furlough wasn’t on the table. Plus, it just doesn’t make any sense; furlough is more of a long term thing to make it financially sound to drop that nuke on the pilot group. Not buying it, hope I’m right.

Way to troll.

Nope. Not even close. Addressed by SWAPA and the company already.

The company isn’t even interested in giving out long term LOA’s or early-outs. Hell… they didn’t even want us going out of currency in their VPTO proposal. Gee… wonder why?

But….. one group that should worry about layoffs are the GO dwellers if Elliott gets their way. That just might mean you… 😜

Not intending to troll or be a FUD distributor. Have had a few other FO’s mention to me that union guys are starting to talk about it on trips. I have not personally heard anything direct myself.

Hence why I’m asking all of the people here who seem to be more well connected than me.

I come from 135, so this is my first airline. Furlough stuff is all new to me.

I can’t imagine that large of a number happening out of nowhere. It really is the nuclear option, and would destroy every last ounce of “culture” we have left. The only reason I ask is that it seems this topic keeps coming up more and more on trips as of late.

Probably only because you’re bringing it up.

See a previous comment of mine, but I haven’t heard anything direct myself. Figured you all would have more hard info one way or the other.

Didn’t mean to poke the hive with a genuine attempt at discussion.
