Well, that was a pretty lame comeback. I expect much more saucy from you.

The house is such a mess, that could be over 10 years. The big concern at HQ is protecting the pickleball courts . They just better not mess with the pickleball or the deck parties.

HQ agrees with you , they should just fire all the pilots. This place would be much better without them .

I wouldn't say ten years. Their is not a single airline that had any financial metrics as good as SWA before the pandemic. SWA literally generated 19 billion in operating income, over 12 billion in free cash flow(which pays the dividends and stock buy backs). All of the big initiatives of getting rid of the Wright Amendment, Airtran acquisition, and bringing the 800 into SWA, all peaked in that time. Obviously GK should invested more in infrastructure aka IT. He tried to make an airline just another investment on the S&P 500. To the point of Berkshire Hathaway was a owner. Worthy for sure but airlines are sensitive to any economic disruption. SWA was just innovative enough to get by. I have said this before, GK was simplistic in his philosophy(mentored by Herb) but added way too much complexity to the operation. Profits for sure but a serious lack of operational ineptness. All this with a single fleet type. Imagine. Senior management has been asleep at the wheel for a while, with a board that seem's to think that what has worked in the past is ok. It's not. A company of this size needs a long lead time to move the needle. EM will now force change. I still say GK will be around another couple of year's. But he will have a board I hope will not just rubber stamp anything that comes from senior management.

I don’t think anyone should welcome a PE firm making changes to your company… they’re just going to cut costs and pump the stock up, and then sell and not care about the fall out.

Not one WN pilot has welcome them. We have 2 bad choices, I think everyone wishes there was a third choice.

By the way, how many WN pilots would you guess know that the 170 at 5 miles out is in the manual? I say less than 10 percent.

I don't welcome them.. but like I said.. they are only here because current mangement allowed it to happen. Their inaction and lack of leadership is going to be their downfall. i do welcome that they have the suite actually working instead of playing pickleball and giving shout outs. I've never seen a GO more scared for their jobs. Everything they should have done 10 years ago is all the sudden happening and at a fast pace. This isn't a coincidence. Assigned seats, premium, red eyes, and possibly interline agreements were not on the radar until EM started flexing.

I will also say that I don't know of a single person who is happy about this situation. Management put us here by making us a target. There is no leadership in this rudderless ship. Not a single person stood up and took responsilbity when my family was sleeping on the floor in Chicago on Christmas Day and the company was crashing down around us all. That was the start of a long slide that has ended in where we are now.
I don't trust a single person who is minding the store right now. There are scary times ahead for sure, but with the right people in charge, this company has the bones to be great again. Everyone gets their turn in the barrel for sure, but SWAs turn has seemed to last longer and the barrel smells terrible.
