We have one good thing going for us in the cabin...legroom. That's it. Nothing else. Everything else sucks.
I used to fly Alaska a lot when I lived in Seattle and man, their product is amazing. I don't know what the ROIC is on copying them (sarcasm), but it is a night and day difference and they have way more revenue making opportunities with their way.

Our cabin crew are generally so bad that when I come across one who is willing to do their job, it’s actually refreshing. They’re still riding the mask-nazi high from four years ago and haven’t realized their bread is buttered when people actually enjoy the product they paid for.
Haranguing people during boarding, incessant PAs, introducing themselves as hi,imitstoobumpytoserve… all of that plus the rampant abuse of pre-board has contributed to the rapid decline in our product and the unwillingness of anyone to pay a premium for it. We can’t grab yield because we’ve pi$$ed off anyone willing to pay extra to get on our planes.
The back end crew need a wholesale attitude adjustment and reminder of just how easy they are to replace. I could go to an LSU vs Ole Miss game and have 20000 bubbly and attentive candidates to scab their jobs tomorrow.
And our pilot group needs to stop trying to plow airplanes into the ground 4 miles short of the runway, while I’m on a rant.

You’ll get a harrumph out of me, I guess. I’m biased being married to one of the above mentioned replacements. Of course she’s been here since 1999. The South will rise again, I guess? HA
I will give yall the incessant PAs. Let’s remember it’s the company that pushes it. Hopefully with assigned seats we can get away from that.
As far as not serving…be a good captain. I tell them straight up serving is the default level. Some of these newhires forget they have a job in customer service. Seatbelt sign goes off anytime it’s right…

As I have stated before, I have several family members working on both sides of the door. We can all say we know who the bad apples are regardless of their job classification.
Yes, the COVID hangover is alive and well for many, but we still have many who understand how to "give them the pickle". Management needs to conduct more unannounced audits and start discipling those who lack the desire to work. Good luck with that.
