It's unfortunate. Your company not only insisted on developing the frankenstein MAX, but it will also lead to its downfall and the downfall of Boeing Commercial. I would recommend leaving if you're under 45. Elliott is going to dismantle the company before you even have a chance to recover.

My comment wasn't meant to be a dig, but a warning to those on the forum that think Elliott is somehow going to be a savior.

Of course the customer is going to ask for cheap as possible.
If you live in a DL/UA/AA widebody base and don't like the domestic grind, sure. At this moment in history 40-something pilots actually have the flexibility to make a move like that. But not for too much longer.

Cool story. This has been covered many times on this forum, but AA was the main driver of the Max being rushed into development. There have been many news stories from serveral different sources that cover the whole story. Boeing commercial is literally too big to fail. They have enough max orders to keep them busy for the next 20 years or so. Yes, they suck, and yes, they got themselves into this bind, but your post is both factually incorrect and very dramatic.

Cool story. I know a guy at Boeing too, so what? It was AA that pushed for the re engine of the 737. WN even stated at the time that they were OK with a clean sheet if that's the way Boeing decided to go. I'm happy to blame WN when it's deserved, but in this instance it isn't.
