Everyone wins.
Making that call to the reserve pilot first is very courteous, good form.

Fully rigged open time is one of the biggest and most underrated gains in this contract.

Now we just need those senior guys to auto bid simulator seat support events so AM reserves will stop getting that 3:05am call from scheduling "Guess what YOU'RE doing in 2 hours?!" 😱

Maybe if it paid the correct pay they would.

Not talking profering. Talking when there's only a few trips in there, and may not technically be short call out... We've all looked at open time while sitting reserve and known with great certainty "well, I guess I'm going to MAF tonight."

And sometimes it just takes some time to realize you missed a call and then get through the subsequent phone tree. Not my fault they got a system that sends you for a loop any time a mosquito in the next county sneezes.

I thought all sim events pay premium before reserve?
So 7.5 for a couple hrs in the box isn't enough?

Under the new contract, premium for a sim is now 9.75 TFP.

Even more important, it is contractually a non-jeopardy event for the seat filler.

For those not in Dallas: what I believe Mozam is referring to is that starting a few weeks ago scheduling began adding a duty period after the sim block which somehow (SWA math) resulted in sims paying 8.88 premium vs 9.75 SWAPA says they're looking into it, remains to be seen what ends up happening.

I haven't seen the language but good if true.

All it would take is an "unusually motivated" check airman and the Feds showing up to help, for things to potentially go sideways.
