March I had a blank with all trips. Buddy jr to me for April had all rsv…I bid rsv for April. But there were 30 fewer blanks in March too. I’m bidding 87-89% in base depending on the month. I’ll see what I could’ve held for May blanks before I gamble on June.

Yep. The stagnation has definitely set in. I shot up there for a solid year but am definitely stuck for a while. It helps being in a junior base...I am a solid blank line holder or crap hard line holder. Right now, if I lived in base I think I would definitely play the reserve game in some sort of manner, but I commute. I am able to, however, morph my schedule into whatever I want. I turned my 13 day line with crappy weekend trips into two 3 day trips with Tuesday starts. Captain elitt is weird with lots of net zeros. I am bidding a blank for May and have vacation. I anticipate doing pretty well. I am in the top 35 percent or so of blanks.

I’ll bid blanks for summer and VA months and rsv for the rest of the year for awhile. 🫣

I haven’t moved a number since June. I’m in the bottom 40 in base, but can hold a blank PM. For the first time ever I wasn’t used on a four day reserve block last month, and had people texting me to trade reserve. Maybe reserve will start going more senior. I have vacation in May and have a blank, likely reserve.

I think reserve will be gold for the rest of April and first two weeks of May. After that, it's summer, and they are going to crank up the schedule. Back to gold in mid August. I tried to play the open time game this weekend and was stymied for the first time in a long time. Every trip that pops up has multiple senior captains bidding on it. Reserve utilization is pretty low. It's a good time to play that game. I could smell the desperation, so I went ahead and extra flew a trip. No regerts.
I also find it comical how people won't pick up reserve from TTGA from someone with higher MTD than them and will instead compete for DOT reserve blocks. Logic isn't really strong with some people.... but then again, just as Scheduling stupidity can pay nicely, so do senior captains with little to no MTD bidding DOT on reserve blocks instead of raiding the reserve blocks in TTGA. I just chuckle and enjoy/exploit the ignorance.

As a reserve in base, I say bring on the desperation. I do offer to trade my reserve blocks, but once the block starts, I no longer entertain the kindhearted offers for my reserve blocks.

Wait. Showing my @ss here but does MTD utilization stay with the block?
