I’ve only been here a year and realized this. They run on fear plain and simple. They also don’t trust us as much as they say. Why would a company get long haul planes when they won’t even go to S. America with the ones they already have? There is a great wide world outside of TX and management is terrified of it.

If we did get 787s, SWA would probably demand Boeing remove the center hyd system because "It's too expensive to maintain" and limit us to using just 3 flap settings out of the 9 selectable because "Flaps are not for drag".

I always ask for Flaps 2 to maximize the number of people I irritate.

I mean if youre JUST under the UP bug, WHY NOT use flaps 1. Less drag, with the right amount of lift.

flaps 2 is a power move. I save it for special occasions but man does it work great.
