Apparently a TK email making the rounds saying don't plan on May or June classes. UAL updated its official planning with a reduction of something like 108 aircraft deliveries in 2024 thanks mostly to Boeing.

After their delivery update, anyone could’ve seen that coming. No way anyone hires 2500-3000 this year with delivery/airplane issues.

Really just depends on how much Kirby wants to hire the best pilots available... as the hiring dries up everywhere else United will be able to pick the best of what's available if they maintain hiring. If they wait to pickup hiring again along with everyone else they'll be back to hiring unrestricted ATPs with 500hrs of SIC time from a competitor or their wholly owned regional airline.

I’m pretty sure United’s hiring metrics aren’t based on the goal of picking “the best pilots”. They’ve got different goals.

Yea that’s the last thing United thinks about when hiring pilots. Try again.

If they don’t get some Airbus’s fast they won’t be halting hiring for just a few months. Even if they can make an Airbus order work, it’s going to be at a massive premium.

I wish there was a 757 MAX.
I’d venture that most airlines wish the same…

hiring is drying up at United. Rumor is May June and July classes are postponed. Revised hiring number is 1600 for 2024 some are saying. AA is the only one not slowing down hiring currently

If it's true, it's the worst kept secret ever. Everyone seems to have heard it.
