Really just depends on how much Kirby wants to hire the best pilots available... as the hiring dries up everywhere else United will be able to pick the best of what's available if they maintain hiring. If they wait to pickup hiring again along with everyone else they'll be back to hiring unrestricted ATPs with 500hrs of SIC time from a competitor or their wholly owned regional airline.

If they wait to pickup hiring again along with everyone else they'll be back to hiring unrestricted ATPs with 500hrs of SIC time from a competitor or their wholly owned regional airline.

If they don’t get some Airbus’s fast they won’t be halting hiring for just a few months. Even if they can make an Airbus order work, it’s going to be at a massive premium.
